Below are the three companies in the Industrial Gases industry with the lowest price to earnings (P/E) ratios. P/E is an important valuation tool when comparing companies in the same industry. A higher P/E ratio means that investors are paying more for each unit of net income, so the stock is more expensive compared to one with a lower P/E ratio.

Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE:APD) is lowest with a P/E ratio of 14.67. Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. produces industrial gas and related industrial process equipment. The Company also produces and markets polymer chemicals, performance chemicals, and chemical intermediates. Air Products recovers and distributes oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, synthesis gas, and helium, as well as medical and specialty gases.

Air Products & Chemicals share prices have moved between a 52-week high of $92.79 and a 52-week low of $76.11 and are now trading 16% above that low price at $88.55 per share. The 200-day and 50-day moving averages have moved 0.08% higher and 0.59% higher over the past week, respectively.

Following is Praxair (NYSE:PX) with a P/E ratio of 19.81.
