Below are the top five companies in the Thrifts & Mortgage Finance industry as measured by relative performance. This analysis was compiled based on yesterday's trading activity as we search for stocks that have the potential to outperform.

Charter Financial (NASDAQ:CHFN) ranks first trading unchanged; Capitol Federal Financial (NASDAQ:CFFN) ranks second with a loss of 1.09%; and Provident New York Bancorp (NASDAQ:PBNY) ranks third with a loss of 1.65%.

Hudson City Bancorp (NASDAQ:HCBK) follows with a loss of 2.05% and Astoria Financial (NYSE:AF) rounds out the top five with a loss of 2.08%.
