Below are the top five companies in the Publishing industry as measured by relative performance. This analysis was compiled based on yesterday's trading activity as we search for stocks that have the potential to outperform.

Media General (NYSE:MEG) ranks first with a gain of 11.51%; Gannett (NYSE:GCI) ranks second with a gain of 2.84%; and Journal Communications (NYSE:JRN) ranks third with a gain of 1.91%.

The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) follows with a gain of 1.69% and EW Scripps (NYSE:SSP) rounds out the top five with a gain of 1.62%.

Media General, Inc. is a diversified communications company situated primarily in the southeastern United States. The Company holds interests in newspapers, television stations, interactive media, and diversified information services.
