StealthGas Ranks the Highest in Terms of Earnings Yield in the Oil & Gas Storage & Transportation Industry (GASS, SFL, NRGY)

Below are the three companies in the Oil & Gas Storage & Transportation industry with the highest earnings yields. Earnings yield is useful to compare the relative benefit of owning a stock vs. owning other yield assets such as bonds. If the earnings yield is higher, stocks may be considered undervalued.

StealthGas (NASDAQ:GASS) is highest with an earnings yield of 12.7%. StealthGas, Inc. offers marine transport services for liquefied petroleum gas producers and users. The Company transports propane, butane, butadiene, isopropane, propylene and vinyl chloride monomer, which are all byproducts of the production of crude oil and natural gas. Thus far today, StealthGas has traded 42,000 shares, vs. average volume of 101,000 shares per day. The stock has underperformed the Dow (-0.6% to the Dow's 0.6%) and underperformed the S&P 500 (-0.6% to the S&P's 0.4%) during today's trading.

Ship Finance International (NYSE:SFL) is next with an earnings yield of 9.5%.

Finishing up the top three is Inergy (NYSE:NRGY), with an earnings yield of 8.5%.
