Top 3 Companies in the Trucking Industry With the Highest Operating Margin (UHAL, DTG, HTZ)

Below are the three companies in the Trucking industry with the highest operating margin. A healthy operating margin is required for a company to pay for its fixed costs and generate cash.

Amerco (NASDAQ:UHAL) is highest with an operating margin of 26.2%. AMERCO is the holding company for U-Haul International, Inc., Amerco Real Estate Company, Republic Western Insurance Company, and Oxford Life Insurance Company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, offers rental of trucks, trailers, and self storage space, as well as property and casualty insurance and life insurance products. Thus far today, Amerco has traded 5,000 shares, vs. average volume of 25,000 shares per day. The stock has underperformed the Dow (-1.0% to the Dow's 0.2%) and underperformed the S&P 500 (-1.0% to the S&P's 0.1%) during today's trading.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive (NYSE:DTG) is next with an operating margin of 22.0%.

Finishing up the top three is Hertz Global (NYSE:HTZ), with an operating margin of 20.4%.
