Top 5 Companies in the Publishing Industry with the Best Relative Performance (SSP, NYT, GCI, VCI, TRI)

We looked at the Publishing industry and measured relative performance to find the top stocks. Relative outperformance is a bullish sign of underlying fundamental and technical strength. We look at yesterday's price action of all companies in this peer group.

EW Scripps (NYSE:SSP) ranks first with a gain of 2.46%; The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) ranks second with a gain of 2.38%; and Gannett (NYSE:GCI) ranks third with a gain of 2.10%.

Valassis Communications (NYSE:VCI) follows with a gain of 1.26% and Thomson Reuters (NYSE:TRI) rounds out the top five with a gain of 1.01%.

The E.W. Scripps Company has interests in newspaper publishing, broadcast television, national television networks, interactive media, and television retailing. The Company's conducts operations worldwide.
