Top 5 Performing Stocks in the Dow (PG, JPM, MSFT, MMM, JNJ)

Below are the top five performing stocks in the Dow Jones Industrials Index. These companies should be watched for additional outperformance to the upside.

Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) lead the charge up 3.65% today, well above the Dow's return of 0.41% thus far. Just behind are shares of JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), which is up 1.25%.

Rounding out the list of outperformers are shares of Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and 3M (NYSE:MMM), which are up 1.00% and 0.98%, respectively. Finally we have Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) up a respectable 0.95% on the day.

The Procter & Gamble Company manufactures and markets consumer products in countries throughout the world. The Company provides products in the laundry and cleaning, paper, beauty care, food and beverage, and health care segments. Proctor & Gamble's products are sold primarily through mass merchandisers, grocery stores, membership club stores, drug stores, and neighborhood stores.

Procter & Gamble has overhead space with shares priced $73.04, or 0.6% below the average consensus analyst price target of $73.47. The stock should discover initial support at its 50-day moving average (MA) of $69.08 and subsequent support at its 200-day MA of $66.49.
