Stock Investors Bid Up Shares of National Grid, Up 2.2%

National Grid (NYSE:NGG) is a company whose shares are active, trading 2.2% higher to $54.12. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is now trading 0.4% higher to 14,033 and the S&P is trading 0.4% higher to 1,526.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of National Grid have traded between a low of $49.55 and a high of $58.03 and are now at $54.12, which is 9% above that low price. Over the past week, the 200-day moving average (MA) has remained constant while the 50-day MA has declined 0.5%.

National Grid (NYSE:NGG) has potential upside of 13.7% based on a current price of $54.12 and analysts' consensus price target of $61.55. National Grid shares should first meet resistance at the 200-day moving average (MA) of $54.60 and find additional resistance at the 50-day MA of $55.91.

National Grid PLC owns, operates and develops electricity and gas networks. The Group's electricity transmission and gas distribution networks are located throughout the United Kingdom and in the north-eastern section of the United States. They also own liquefied natural gas storage facilities in Britain and provide infrastructure services to the mobile telecom industry.
